Contextualizing family agriculture in Nicaragua: preliminary results on a cross-CRP collaboration

Abstract

PowerPoint presentation summarising the preliminary results of a Cross-CGIAR Research Project (CRP) aimed at improving local capacities to analyze family agriculture in Nicaragua and contextualizing its dynamics and diversity. This involved research around three major themes: Dynamics and uptake of family agriculture by Nicaraguan populations; Need for capacity building of local organisations; diversity of farming practices in specific regions of interest; And the dynamics of maize and livestock production. The presentation concludes with the major lessons learned and a summary of agricultural development challenges for family agriculture in Nicaragua.
