Coconut lethal yellowing disease: development of new diagnostic tools and laboratory support to promote their application. R8309, Final Technical Report

Abstract

This project should have provided scientific support to coconut rehabilitation programmes by refining, validating and supporting the trial commercial development of new diagnostic techniques to detect and identify phytoplasmas in the early stage of development using monoclonal antibodies developed at Rothamsted Research. Some outputs were achieved, but the project was hampered by problems with resurrection of the monoclonal cell lines due to interruption with supply of liquid nitrogen to the freezer.
