Are southern academics virtually connected?

A review of the adoption of web 2.0 tools for research collaboration by development researchers in the South.

Abstract

This paper forms the first phase of a study commissioned by GDNet into supporting the use of web 2.0 tools for research collaboration, by its members; researchers in developing and transition countries, and facilitating an online community of development researchers globally. The paper provides some recommendations on how GDNet can improve the GDNet Community and encourage uptake of this and other web 2.0 tools and platforms that it offers now and in the future.
