Advances in Botanical Research: Insect–Plant Interactions in a Crop Protection Perspective (Volume 81)

Multidisciplinary teams of researchers highlight approaches for managing crop pests while limiting use of pesticides

Abstract

Current estimates of crop or postharvest losses due to insect pests are around 50%.

In this book, multidisciplinary teams of 53 researchers (from disciplines such as palaeontology, evolutionary biology, chemical ecology, ethology, agronomy, animal and plant physiology) highlight the current approaches used to manage crop pests, while limiting use of pesticides.

This work was partly funded by the UK Department for International Development, a core donor of the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology
