Report illegal fishing in England
Use this service to report:
- fishing out of season
- fishing without a licence
- the use of illegal equipment to catch fish, for example fixed lines or nets
- the catching or trapping of protected types of fish
Do not use this service to report fishing without permission. Contact either:
- the local angling club or owner
- the police - call 999 if the crime is in progress or 101 if it’s not urgent
There’s a different way to report illegal fishing in Scotland, report illegal fishing in Wales or report illegal fishing in Northern Ireland.
Before you start
You’ll need to know:
- where the illegal fishing is taking place
- why the fishing is illegal, for example the equipment being used or the type of fish being caught
You’ll need to give the location of the illegal fishing, either by describing where it is or using the map in the service.
You only need to give your personal details if you’re happy to be contacted for more information.
If you want to send photos, you’ll need to give an email address.
