   The application for registration of "English Whisky" has been approved. Following the expiry of the 20-day notice period, the product specification will be published and the Secretary of State will enter the name on the register on 1 October 2026, being 20 days after the publication of this notice. Registration of the name will confer the protection provided for under Article 21 of assimilated Regulation (EU) 2019/787. That protection will take effect from the date on which the name is entered on the register.
