Product Safety Report for OPSS enforcement action against 28 small, high-powered magnetic toys sold via online marketplaces presenting a risk of internal injuries.
Summary
Product: 28 models of unbranded magnet toys sold via online marketplaces.
Hazard: The products present a risk of internal injuries as the magnets were found to have a magnetic flux index greater than the limit allowed of 50 kG²mm². Small, high-powered magnetic products can be easily swallowed and, when ingested, have the potential to cause serious internal injuries within the gastrointestinal tract.
Corrective action: The listings have been removed by the online marketplaces. We recommend owners stop using the product immediately and contact the distributor you purchased from to request redress.

Hazard
These product present a risk of injuries as, when tested, the small magnets were found to have a magnetic flux index greater than the limit allowed of 50 kG²mm². Small, high-powered magnetic products can be easily swallowed and, when ingested, have the potential to cause serious internal injuries within the gastrointestinal tract. The product does not meet the requirements of the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011.

Corrective action
