Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of fire because it is fitted with an incorrect supply cord which has excessive electrical resistance and could overheat during use, causing the insulation to melt or ignite nearby combustible materials. The product also has inadequately insulated mains wiring in contact with unearthed metallic parts and failed the electric strength test required for Class II equipment. The product was also missing required markings, instructions and safety instructions.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border.
