Hazard
The product presents a serious risk of fire as the plug fitted to this sample did not comply with BS1363 as when tested, it was found that the lengths of the live and neutral pins were too short. The fuse did not comply with BS1362 as it had not been supplied with any granular filler. The filler is required to ensure the safe operation of the fuse under fault conditions. The instructions supplied with the product were inadequate as they did not contain sufficient information to ensure the correct and safe use of the equipment.
The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
Corrective action
The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed.
