Product description The enclosure exhaust system is on optional extra which can be fitted to CNC (computer numerically controlled) machines such as mills and lathes which use metal working fluid during the cutting process, which generates a mist inside the machine enclosure. The enclosure exhaust system clears this mist from the enclosure to aid observation of the process.

Hazard

The enclosure exhaust system extracts metalworking fluid / water mix aerosol from the enclosure to the workplace atmosphere where it can be breathed in. Inhalation of metalworking fluid mist can cause lung diseases such as occupational asthma. There is no effective filtration of the hazardous substances.

The product is not CE marked. It does not meet the requirements of the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008.

Corrective action

This product is no longer for sale in Great Britain and the supplier is in the process of writing to existing customers to make them aware of the risk.

Users wishing to continue using this product should ensure that the exhaust system vents outside to a safe location or has additional appropriate filtration fitted.
