Recent testing found a decrease in earmuff headband force over time when the earmuffs are used in combination with certain helmets. This decrease in force could lead to the earmuffs offering less protection.

In EN352-3 standard testing, the 3M™ PELTOR™ X Series P5E Hard Hat attached earmuffs continues to meet requirements.
There have been no reports of injuries, accidents, or complaints associated with this issue.

Recall of the product from end users. Product advisory notice sent to distributors with instructions.
3M is updating the compatibility information related to 3M™ PELTOR™ P5E earmuffs and approved head protection products. Marking the product with appropriate warnings on the risks. The helmets that are not compatible have been removed from the approved carrier list.
