You need a phytosanitary certificate from the Department for Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) to export potatoes to non-EU countries.

Phytosanitary certificates are not required for trade within the EU.

How to apply

Download an application form from the DARD website.

You’ll need to provide:

  • your details
  • details of the recipient of the shipment
  • details of the packages to be sent
  • transit arrangements

Return your completed form to DARD’s Agri-food Inspection Branch.

You must give at least 2 working days notice for your certificate to be issued.
