Question

Is it acceptable to issue separate UK type‐examination certificates for a product with different marketing names?

Recommendation

Separate UK type‐examination certificates for each marketing name may be issued or several marketing names may be included in one type-examination certificate provided that the manufacturer supplies a written declaration stating:

  • the correspondence between the tested product and the alternative marketing names,

  • that the alternative names are for marketing purpose only,

  • that the products are strictly identical.

Technical documentation will include this declaration in addition to the product details.
