Summary

On 7 June 1999 off St Alban’s Head, England, a crew member from potting vessel Purbeck II was dragged overboard. A bight of back rope had caught round his neck. Once in the water the crewman lost consciousness due to the tightening of the rope. Fortunately, due to quick thinking of the skipper and a crewman, he was retrieved back on board and transferred to hospital where he made a full recovery.
