Synopsis
This Jersey- registered 20m wooden potting vessel caught fire in UK territorial waters. A fire was discovered in the forward space at 0400 UTC on 21 December 2004. Despite all efforts, the three crew members were later evacuated without injury onto a RNLI lifeboat. The vessel foundered later that day.
Action taken
A Preliminary Examination was carried out by the MAIB at the request of the States of Jersey Harbours and Airport Committee. No specific recommendations were made.
