Labyrinthitis and driving

You do not usually need to tell DVLA if you have labyrinthitis. If you have symptoms which stop you driving safely, you must tell DVLA if these last for 3 months or longer.

Labyrinthitis is an inner ear problem that might cause dizziness. Find out about labyrinthitis on the NHS website.

You can be fined up to £1,000 if you do not tell DVLA about a medical condition that affects your driving. You may be prosecuted if you’re involved in an accident as a result.
