The definition of qualifying subsidiary at ITA07/S191 works by specifying the conditions which must be met by a company in order for it to be a qualifying subsidiary of another company (‘the relevant company’) (see VCM13130).

This definition applies to shares issued on or after 17 March 2004. For guidance on earlier definitions (how the requirement has changed over time), see VCM74940.
