VATREG03150 - Registration - general: how an application must be made
While the VAT Regulations 1995 do not specify how a voluntary request for VAT registration must be made (see VATREG21000), HMRC requires that businesses submit the relevant forms referred to in VATREG03100 or use HMRC's online VAT registration service.
