VGROUPS03230 - Eligibility conditions for specified bodies: specified bodies: what happens when the body corporate is the sole general partner of a limited partnership?

Limited partnerships are included because for VAT purposes, a limited partnership’s business activities are treated as carried on by the general partner and so can be treated as taking place within the general partner’s VAT group.

The definition of a specified body is modified in two respects. First, the relevant business activity must be carried on by the limited partnership (not by the general partner in an unrelated capacity). Second, the expected turnover should take into account the limited partnership supplies to persons outside the VAT group.
