Error correction for VAT: Credibility queries: Other unprocessed repayment returns queries

Suspended periods due to queried periods being unresolved

When verifying a return, you should check for any other unprocessed repayment returns shown as suspended on the Vision computer system.

When returning a UCRE to Credibility (321CRED1).

You should inform them whether or not suspended returns can also be released.

Try to resolve the reason for these returns being suspended. If the suspension is due to a missing period, you should initially try to obtain a return for this period from the trader.

If the trader does not render the return, you should

  • arrange for a prime assessment to be issued, and

    • if a prime assessment has already been issued, issue an additional assessment, if appropriate. This will release the suspended claim for further processing, or
    • ask Accounting & Adjustment Banking team to de-suspend the claim return if the centrally issued prime assessment is higher than the established liability on the missing periods and the trader will not render the return for the missing period.

Any such request to Accounting & Adjustment Banking team, EF Team-Tray 360Index, should be made by submitting a VAT 915 via Electronic Folder (EF).

The VAT 915 must be countersigned through the EF Notes system in accordance with the local authority levels

Signal Pre-Rpyt showing on VISION

Occasionally the signal [Pre-Rpyt] will appear on the period details screen on VISION.

These returns are effectively stuck in pre-credibility and have not been repaid. The [Pre-Rpyt] signal relates to a fully processed return. In order to release the return to go through the credibility suite, a replacement return needs to be input.

You should complete a VAT 915 requesting that the periods be released and confirm whether or not the credit is to be repaid.

The VAT 915 should be countersigned at the appropriate local level and forwarded to the Credibility team tray 321CRED1.

Signal PCred showing on VISION

Occasionally the signal [PCred] will appear on the period details screen on the VISION computer system.

These returns are effectively stuck in pre-credibility and have not been repaid.

The [PCred] signal indicates a return that is not fully processed. If the return is to be released you should complete a VAT915 requesting that the return should be released and confirm whether or not the credit is to be repaid.

The VAT 915 should be countersigned at the appropriate local level and forwarded to the Credibility team in tray 321CRED1.
