TSI001200 - Introduction to Temporary Storage: Temporary Storage conditions
The following can apply to have their premises approved as a temporary storage facility:
- port or airport operator
- freight forwarder
- customs agent
- warehouse keeper
- transport company
The requirements are:
- established in GB
- involved with the movement of goods that originate outside of GB
Only an employee or authorised person can run Temporary Storage Facility.
As per Article 148 2(a), The authorisation shall be granted only to persons who satisfy all of the that they are established in the customs territory of the Union. This applies to Northern Ireland Temporary Storage Facilities who fall under the customs territory of the EU.
