DBT has issued a number of other Open General Export Licences, up to date copies of which can be found on the their website at http://www.bis.gov.uk/whatwedo/europeandtrade/strategic-export-control/licences/ogels/index.html

Note that in addition to the usual conditions, a number of OGELs require the trader, if requested, to produce additional documents or information to HMRC.

OGELs are not valid:-

  • unless official and commercial export documentation accompanying the goods bears a note stating that “the goods are being exported under [the particular Open General Export Licence]”;
  • if the exporter knows or suspects that the goods are intended or likely to be used for any purpose concerning nuclear, biological or chemical weapons.
