The Role of National Clearance Hub

(This content has been withheld because of exemptions in the Freedom of Information Act 2000)

Officers at the National Clearance Hub carry out pre-export documentary checks, including checking of BIS export licences.

The Role of Large Business Service and Local Compliance Teams

Officers within Large Business Service and Local Compliance teams are responsible for auditing UK exporters. Large Business Service and Local Compliance officers also carry out pre-export licence checks on intra-EC transfers of controlled goods. Intra-EC controls generally only apply to items on the Military List, and the most sensitive dual-use items. Local Compliance and LBS staff may also carry out pre-export checks for traders authorised for Local Clearance Procedure (LCP).
