Licence Required End use

Dear Sir,

I refer to the consignment of xxxxx which was detained at xxxxx on xxxx, we must advise you that these goods have been rated as ‘Licence Required’, because there are concerns about the final end-use or the end-user of the goods. These goods may not be exported without first applying to the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) for an export licence.

Export licence enquiries should be directed to DBT at the following address:

Export Control Joint Unit
3rd Floor
1 Victoria Street
London SW1H 0ET

Tel: 020 7215 4594
Fax: 020 7215 2635

Email: eco.help@trade.gov.uk {#}

You have now been made aware that the goods require a licence to this end-user in xxxxx. If you attempt to export the same goods to the same consignee again, they may be liable to seizure and as you have been advised of the end-use control, you may also become liable to proceedings under section 68(2) of the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979, which carries a maximum 10 year prison sentence and/or a fine of any amount.

The goods are therefore released back to you on the understanding that you will not export the goods without the necessary export licence.

Yours faithfully
