Labour Provider Guidance

Stakeholders: Large Business

Large Business (LB) is responsible for working with the UK’s largest businesses on a range of taxes, duties and regimes, and works collaboratively with colleagues across HMRC in tackling risks and providing customer service. LB employs tax specialists, accountants, auditors and is supported in its work by other tax specialists from across HMRC. LB looks after 2000 of the largest businesses in the UK.

Where Fraud Investigation Service (FIS) are involved in Large Business Cases, LB expect there to be regular engagement from the outset with their Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) and the relevant LM Investigator(s).

The CRM is ultimately accountable for managing the relationship with the country’s large businesses and is responsible for leading any HMRC work including FIS.

The CRM must be contacted before any engagement with an LB customer and must be kept informed throughout any intervention.

There is a protocol in place between LB and FIS to support effective working arrangements.
