Systems and processes: HMRC information systems: Integrated Debt Management System

Integrated Debt Management System (IDMS) is a system used primarily by Debt Management and Banking (DMB).

Specialist Investigation (SI) Officers in Insolvency, Labour provider (LP) and Securities teams may also have access to the system.

IDMS is a licensed system and should not be allocated to users via SRS. Teams should firstly refer to the LP or Security SPOCS.

IDMS receives notifications of charges from a variety of other HMRC systems such as:

  • ETMP
  • SAFE

It then manages the debt and allocates it to a work list depending on the type of debt, amount due and time outstanding. It also has analytical capacity which can tailor the debt recovery based on the previous behaviour of the taxpayer.
