The Insurance Industry: Types of insurance: General household and domestic insurance

The term general insurance is used to describe all the insurance that falls outside of one of the long-term categories. It encompasses all of the non-life insurance bought by businesses or individuals and produces the bulk of the IPT paid in the UK, for example motor and household insurance.
