Communications: British Document Exchange: treatment of outgoing document exchange mail
Outgoing British Document Exchange (DX) (IHTM02141) mail is handled as follows:
- the post room staff put the mail in special bags
- towards the end of each working day the bags are placed in a locked bunker at each location. In no circumstances should you place DX correspondence in Royal Mail post boxes.
DX correspondence must be sent in envelopes without the postage paid impression. The post room will use unfranked window envelopes overprinted with the DX address.
