The CHIEF system provides for the following transactions to be carried out:
- entry input
- entry amendment / cancellation
- query
- detention
- re-selection
- clearance
- accounting
- interrogation
- conversions and calculations
- sending messages
- help
- noticeboard, and
- production of management information reports.
