After any validation errors have been resolved the computer checks the entry code details to see if further checking or processing is required. For example where a pre-clearance document is identified the computer will advise the trader or Customs by showing Route 1 on the E2 entry Acceptance advice.

The computer advises Customs of the required check by listing appropriate Customs checks on the Customs version of Output E2. When staff decides that an E2 should be suppressed, pre-clearance checks should be displayed using transaction code DEVD display 6 and recorded on a Form C90.
