HMEXSH2240 - Miscellaneous items: Common lounges

There are currently no common lounges at seaports.

A common lounge allows domestic, intra-EU and 3rd country passengers to mix after security checks and prior to departure. The common lounge forms part of the examination station approval, which specifies what part of an airport is subject to customs controls. It will include the departure lounges, baggage examination hall as well as the airport apron. The examination station approval is authorised by the Customs office responsible for the airport. The assurance of common lounges is a matter for the Customs office and any concerns you may have should be passed on to the appropriate Customs office.
