ECSH83675 - Sanctions for non-compliance: suspension and cancellation: notice to cancel or suspend a business’s registration

The notice to suspend or cancel a business’s registration is the means in which we communicate our decision to suspend or cancel a business’s registration to the business. For more information on issuing a notice, see ECSH83725. Therefore, once a decision is made and communicated it is final unless it is changed through the statutory review procedure in The Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 (MLR 2017), successfully appealed in the tribunal or found to be issued in error.

Once a business’s registration is cancelled, the business would need to re-apply if the reason(s) for the decision were rectified, the decision was overturned on review or appeal, or the notice was issued in error.

For further technical and operational guidance on cancellations and suspensions, see ECSH48000.
