Procedure: division of consignments accompanied by movement certificates (replacement movement certificates)

The division of a consignment and the certificate to which the goods relate may be permitted by the authorising authorities, ie on occasion a consignment’s arrangement may change eg part of the consignment remain in the UK and the rest sent to Turkey. When this occurs, a written request for replacement certificate(s) must be submitted to the UK Customs authorities.

Written confirmation that such a division has taken place must be provided to the official.

The authorising authority shall issue replacement A.TR/EUR1/EUR-MED certificates for each part of the divided consignment. The ‘Customs Endorsement’ box of the replacement must be completed to show the registration number, date, office and country of issue of the original certificate using the wording:

Replacement for A.TR/EUR1/EUR-MED certificate

……………………………………………………..

(Number, date, office and country of issue) ………………………………………………

The official must endorse the original certificate to the effect that the form has been divided. This is done by entering in the ‘Customs Endorsement’ box of the certificate:

………………. (number ) replacements issued, …………………. copies attached.

The official is to file, locally, the original of the certificate and a copy of each replacement used.

Note: The period of validity of divided certificates remains the same as that of the original movement certificates.
