Singapore: Dividends

The Singapore tax deducted from a dividend paid by a Singapore company is company tax (see INTM164010(e)). A portfolio shareholder is not entitled to credit for this tax but the correct measure of the dividend for United Kingdom tax purposes is the net dividend received.

Where the recipient of a dividend is a United Kingdom company controlling, directly or indirectly, at least 10 per cent of the voting power in the Singapore company paying the dividend, credit is due for the underlying tax (see INTM164010(d)).
