Summary warrant: Lodging a 3rd party arrestment

Lodging an arrestmentOnce you have decided that a 3rd party arrestment (

DMBM670920) is appropriate you must ensure that

  • a charge to pay has been served on the debtor and
  • a 14 day period has expired without payment being made.Use SW210 letter to instruct the sheriff officer to serve a 3rd party arrestment. Include within the letter

  • the name and address of the bank or building society branch and where available
  • the account number.

Action by sheriff officerOnce the arrestment has been served on the arrestee, the sheriff officer will advise you.

Action by debt pursuit officeAfter notification that the arrestment has been lodged you should contact the bank or building society to confirm the funds caught.
