Supporting Guidance: employer compliance: guidance by subject: construction industry scheme (CIS): IT systems
CI Caseworkers will use several IT systems to research and record CIS reviews / compliance checks. The main systems that CITs will use are listed below.
The CIS System (up to 05-04-07)
The CIS system supported administration of the Scheme up to 05-04-07 and contains all of the information in relation to a contractor or subcontractor for CIS.
The system was de-commissioned and archived. To request details from the CISL archive you should send an email to <CISL, Archive (IMS)>.
The CIS System (from 06-04-07)
The CIS System from 06-04-07 provides the same type of information as the earlier system but in relation to the Scheme from 06 April 2007.
It records information in relation to the registration and verification processes as well as information in relation to CIS monthly returns.
The system will automatically analyse the information it holds and where there are inconsistencies will generate a ‘Risk Rule’. A risk rule is an indication that there may be a compliance risk. Risk rules are held in the CIS Data Warehouse to be used in future compliance activity.

CI Caseworkers will record all review work on Caseflow.
