Bank Levy Manual

Collection and management: payment: information to be supplied in support of bank levy instalment payments

The responsible entity will be required to provide HMRC with details of the amount of bank levy paid in each instalment payment. The quantification notice must be given no later than the due date of payment for the particular instalment payment.

If this information is not provided within this time frame, HMRC can require the information to be provided using a new information power, Regulation 10A of The Corporation Tax (Instalment Payments) Regulations 1998 (inserted by SI2011/1785). This power provides that the penalty provisions at part 7 of Schedule 36 Finance Act 2008 may apply in whole or in part should the information requested under the information power not be submitted timeously.
