This is the summary of responses and the government’s response to the consultation.
Subject to the assessment on the statutory tests, the government will continue to work with Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council, Isle of Wight Council, and Southampton City Council to establish the Hampshire and the Solent Combined County Authority.

This consultation seeks views on a proposal to form a Mayoral Combined County Authority for the local government areas in Hampshire County Council, Portsmouth City Council, Isle of Wight Council, and Southampton City Council (referred to as Hampshire and the Solent in this consultation).
