Yorkshire and The Humber Reserves Forces' and Cadets' Association (YH RFCA) supports reserves, cadets and the wider military through our enduring relationships with local business and civic communities.
YH RFCA manages and maintains an estate of more than 600 buildings that are home to our the local cadet and reserve units.
Champion Cadets
Veteran and hospital worker Kal Singh enjoys his role as an adult volunteer with the Army Cadet Force in Yorkshire.
Ever thought of becoming an adult volunteer with one of Yorkshire’s cadet units? Kal Singh explains why he loves doing his bit to help young people in his community.
Kal Singh says:
Just seeing the sheer enjoyment of the cadets when they learn something new is a reward in itself. I’m there to give them a hand and encourage them along the way.

Promote the Reserve Forces
Danny Railton combines his career as an account manager for Speedibake with being a RAF reservist
Yeadon-based Danny Railton is an RAF Reservist and an account manager for Speedibake, a food company that produces muffins and doughnuts for supermarkets. Danny spent 2 years in the Marines in his twenties and after a period as a civilian, he missed the focus that being part of the military brought to his life.
Engage with the local community and employers on behalf of defence
We work with local employers to encourage support of the Armed Forces community and recognise the valuable skill set members of the Armed Forces community bring to the workplace. Our enduring relationships with local communities continue to encourage support for reserves, cadets and the wider military family across Yorkshire and the Humber.
Reservist Helen Haigh, aged 37, of Bradford, has worked for WYG as a project manager for two years. She combines her civilian role with serving as a captain with the Royal Engineers
