ATA carnets
Provides information on ATA carnets and documents used.
An admission temporaire or Temporary Admission (ATA) carnet is an international customs document which can be used as an alternative to Temporary Admission. ATA carnets in the UK are issued by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other local Chambers.
ATA carnets are documents used to:
- temporarily export goods for specific use outside the UK
- claim TA on non-UK goods imported temporarily into the UK
- cover the transit of goods to the country or countries where they will be temporarily used
ATA carnets simplify customs formalities by allowing a single document to be used for clearing goods through customs in the countries that are part of the ATA carnet system.
Most goods covered under Temporary Admission can be listed on an ATA carnet.
ATA carnets are available through various regional British Chambers of Commerce.
Apply online with London Chamber of Commerce or contact one of the authorised issuing chambers.
