Revocation/Amendment of an inward processing authorisation
Information on revocation and amendment of an inward processing authorisation.
Importers can request to revoke or amend their authorisation at any time by writing to their Supervising Customs Office. In their letter they must give the date by which all the goods currently being processed under the inward processing authorisation will be correctly disposed of.
An authorisation holder is encouraged to revoke their authorisation if it’s no longer needed.
HMRC may also revoke an authorisation if it is established that it was issued based on incorrect or incomplete information or when the conditions of the IP procedure have not been met. If this happens importers will be notified in writing and they will be told how to dispose of any IP goods, which they still have on hand.
More information on revocation can be found at The Customs (Import Duty) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018
