Report driving test resellers, cancellation finders or booking services

Report when someone tries to sell car driving test appointments, search the driving test booking service using bots, or use someone’s details to book a test.

Applies to England, Scotland and Wales

What people, websites and apps are not allowed to do

It’s against the law to for anyone other than a learner driver to book a car driving test.

People, websites and apps are also not allowed to:

  • sell driving test appointments (known as ‘reselling’)
  • search the driving test booking service using bots
  • book car driving tests on behalf of other people
  • use someone’s details to book other types of driving tests (for example, motorcycle, lorry or bus) without their permission

You can report this activity to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). This includes reporting:

  • people
  • social media accounts
  • websites
  • apps

Report the activity

Fill in the online form to report the activity to DVSA.

What to include

It helps if you give your name and contact details. DVSA can then contact you if they need more information.

You do not have to give your personal details. Any information you do give will be kept private and confidential.

It will help if you include:

  • website addresses
  • usernames or links to social media accounts, pages or groups
  • names of apps or links to the listing in app stores

It can help if you include screenshots.

Do not contact people to gather evidence

Only tell DVSA about information you already have.

Do not contact people, join groups or engage with services for the purpose of making a report.

Start now

What happens after you have reported something to DVSA

DVSA will review the information you send.

DVSA uses reports alongside other information to identify patterns of activity that may be linked to misuse of the driving test booking service. This helps them understand how misuse is taking place and to take action to make the booking system fairer for learners.

In some cases, DVSA may carry out a more detailed investigation into an individual report or a group of related reports. Action can include working with:

  • social media platforms to remove accounts
  • app store providers to remove apps
  • website hosting providers to remove websites
  • other government departments and agencies
  • the police, where criminal activity may have taken place

DVSA cannot give you feedback on individual reports or investigations, and you will not usually receive a direct response.

However, every report is valuable. Even where no immediate action is taken, the information you provide may help DVSA identify patterns, link related activity together, and prevent future misuse of the driving test booking service.
