PSVI: Working with Parliament

We work closely with Parliament on the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative. In April 2016, we welcomed the House of Lords Select Committee on Sexual Violence in Conflict’s comprehensive report and will continue to work alongside Parliament to deliver the PSVI objectives and the report’s recommendations.

Working with Parliament

In April 2016, we welcomed the report of the House of Lords Select Committee on Sexual Violence in Conflict.

We shared the Committee’s view that the inquiry and the report, based on a broad range of witness testimony and oral and written evidence, made a valuable assessment of this issue and offered a number of important conclusions and recommendations which will be helpful in guiding the Government’s future policy and practice on this agenda.

Our response to the report in June 2016 set out progress made to date and the future priorities of the PSVI. We also welcome the formation of a new All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Sexual Violence in Conflict and look forward to working with the APPG on this issue. We are also now engaging with the UK’s Intra Parliamentary Union and Commonwealth Parliamentary Association to see how they can support the PSVI through their own work.
