Ofqual Handbook

Proposed changes

Changes we are proposing to existing documents

We are proposing to make a small number of changes to the layout and wording of some of our existing documents. This is to help us make the best use of this new document format.

None of these changes alter the substantive obligations on awarding organisations. There are no proposed changes to either the General Conditions of Recognition, or to the supporting guidance.

To comment on any of these proposed changes:

Changes to our Logo Requirements

We are proposing to:

  • remove the current introductory text
  • use the defined term ‘Ofqual’s Logo’ throughout the requirements
  • change wording to improve clarity and consistency with the rest of our requirements.

We are proposing to:

  • simplify and shorten the current introductory text
  • change the presentation of the TQT criteria to make them clearer in this format - replacing current numbered paragraphs with numbered criteria presented in tables
  • to make the distinction between them clearer, present our level requirements separately from the associated guidance (currently, these appear in a single document)
  • in the guidance to General Condition E7, use a new format for the examples of activities that contribute to Total Qualification Time and Guided Learning.

Changes to our Certificate requirements

We are proposing to shorten and clarify the current introduction so that it works better in this format.
