Registration requirements

Information about who should register for Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) and the registration requirements.

Traders responsible for the movement of goods into or out of the UK through a Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) port must be registered to use GVMS.

This is generally a haulage firm who physically move the goods but can also be customs agents.

Requirements to register for GVMS include:

  • having a GB EORI number
  • holding a Government Gateway account
  • the address of the business must match the address already in use on the Government Gateway account
