Access to Goods Vehicle Movement Service
Information about ways to access to the Goods Vehicle Movement Service.
Hauliers can access the Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) in 2 ways:
- an online service through the Government Gateway
- a direct link from software they use into GVMS using the Goods Vehicle Movement API for hauliers
In addition to the GVMS API for hauliers, HMRC provides an API for carriers and ports.
Carriers and ports must contact the HMRC Software Developers Support Team to request access to the GVMS ports and carriers API. They are not publicly available and require an authorised account that has been associated with GVMS by HMRC.
