Reporting your fuel prices
How to report fuel prices.
From 2 February 2026, you must submit fuel price updates within 30 minutes of any change.
There are 4 ways that you can use to update your fuel prices.
Any assigned user can update fuel prices, as long as they’re associated with the forecourt.
-
Go to the ‘Forecourts’ page and select the relevant forecourt.
-
Select ‘Update fuel prices’.
-
You will be prompted to select the fuel grades that you want to update the prices for. Select each grade being updated and click ‘Continue’.
-
Enter the new price for each grade that you selected. The price must be entered in pence per litre (ppl). The number can include up to 3 decimal places.
-
Enter the date and time that the price changed. If you’re reporting the change more than 30 minutes after the price change, you can choose to give a reason for the late submission.
-
Click ‘Continue’.
-
The system will validate your fuel prices by comparing them with the previously submitted values. It will warn you if the values are invalid or outside expected parameters (for example, if they’re more than 50% of the previous price). You can then choose to change the price or ignore the warnings.
You can use the public API to update your fuel prices by integrating the data into your own tools and services.
You’ll need:
- a motor fuel trader registered GOV.UK One Login to access the API
- understanding of REST API principles
- technical capability to integrate with JSON APIs
The API follows REST principles: resources have stable URLs and map to standard HTTP methods. You can read data by issuing simple GET requests to the relevant resource URL.
Access to API services requires authentication. The Fuel Finder API supports OAuth 2.0 (client credentials).
