Exporting to Faroe Islands after Brexit if there’s no deal

Guidance explaining changes for UK exporters to the Faroe Islands if we leave the EU with no deal.

Trade agreement

The UK has agreed arrangements with the Faroe Islands to ensure trade continues with minimal disruption after the UK leaves the EU.

The agreement can maintain the effects of the EU-Faroe Islands agreement if the UK leaves the EU without a deal.

Tariffs and quotas

Because the UK has agreed continuity arrangements with the Faroe Islands, trade could continue with minimal changes to tariffs and quotas when the UK leaves the EU.

Controlled goods

The export licensing regulations for controlled goods will be affected.

Controlled goods include:

  • military items
  • dual-use items (items with both civil and military uses)
  • firearms

Find out how export licensing for controlled goods will change.

Sanctions and embargoes

Exports of certain categories of product to some countries are subject to embargoes or sanctions.
