Finding and checking an EORI

Information on how to find and check an EORI.

HMRC keeps a database of all the GB and XI prefixed EORI numbers.

The EU keeps a database of all EORI numbers issued by member states. This database also contains all the XI prefixed EORIs that are registered to Northern Ireland.

If you cannot find your EORI number, you will need to sign into the digital registration. Use the details you used to register for an EORI.

You should not sign-in by any other login page – for example, business tax account, personal tax account or the generic HMRC log in account. Once logged in, your EORI number will be displayed.

You can also find your EORI number by logging into your Customs Declaration Service (CDS) financial dashboard.

Public checkers

GB EORI checker

The GB EORI checker can be used to verify all GB prefixed EORI numbers.

The GB checker requires the user to input an EORI number. The checker will then confirm whether or not the EORI is valid. If the holder of the EORI has consented the name and address of the EORI holder will also be displayed.

EU EORI checker

This EORI checker can be used to verify all XI prefixed EORI numbers and all EORI numbers issued by the 27 EU member states.

If the holder of the EORI has consented the name and address of the EORI holder will also be displayed.

You can update your consent to disclose information on the EORI checker using the change of circumstance form for a GB EORI.
