DRIVE35 Funding Programme: Scale-Up

DRIVE35's R&D 'Scale-Up' pillar comprises the DRIVE35 Scale-Up Feasibility Studies competition and the DRIVE35 Scale-Up Fund.

DRIVE35 (Driving Research & Investment in Vehicle Electrification) is a £2.5 billion programme of capital and R&D funding for the automotive industry, including £500 million to 2035 to extend R&D support for 10 years.

The DRIVE35 Scale-Up pillar is delivered in partnership with the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) and Innovate UK.

DRIVE35 Scale-Up Feasibility Studies

UK registered businesses can apply for grant funding to support detailed feasibility studies into the deployment of UK based manufacturing facilities for zero emission vehicle technologies, such as:

  • pilot scale manufacturing
  • demonstration scale manufacturing
  • industrial scale manufacturing

DRIVE35 Scale-Up Fund

UK registered organisations can apply for a share of up to £150 million to scale up the manufacturing of zero emission vehicle technologies. The aim of the Scale up Fund is to support manufacturing facility and process development at pilot scale or demonstration scale.

How to apply

Applications for the first round of the DRIVE35 Scale-Up Feasibility Studies competition are now closed. Further details on future rounds will be coming soon.

The DRIVE35 Scale-Up Fund is currently open to applications. Apply through the Innovation Funding Service.

After you apply

Your application will be reviewed by 5 independent assessors based on the content of your application and their skills or expertise relevant to your project. All of the scores awarded will count towards the total score used to make the funding decision unless you are notified otherwise.
